Community Family

In 2000, Huiling took the lead in breaking the closed mode of collective boarding and opened the first “community family” in the country, allowing people with intellectual disabilities to return to different communities. A family of 5-6 people with intellectual disabilities and a family mother/daddy share the family chores and share their life with each other. So far, Huiling has opened about 60 “families” across the country, providing community-based accommodation services for more than 300 adult mentally handicapped people.
